The VERU Village is primarily a place of safety and inclusion. Inspired by the old African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”, the VERU Village has been established to house a collection of supportive, early intervention and diversionary hubs across Bedfordshire.
These hubs will support countywide activities and initiatives, designed to tackle serious youth violence and child criminal exploitation. We have created these digital hubs to ensure that support and guidance can be easily accessible by our Bedfordshire residents and practitioners alike.
The VERU Village is community and young person led, with support from the VERU’s employees and partners. All Bedfordshire residents and workers are welcomed to become members of the VERU Village, where they will help to engage and interact with children and young people, providing community support using a multi-agency approach to safeguarding all young and vulnerable people throughout Bedfordshire. Remember – it takes a village to raise a child!
The plan will be to group these services into broad groups such as VERU Leisure, VERU Familiy and VERU Inclusion – which can provide a one-stop shop for people who are seeking help, support or activities to take part in. You can view these different hubs on the links below.
